National Coffee Day. What’s In Your Cup?

It is Friday morning and the sun is shining its rays in-between the scattered clouds that are floating around outside. We are finally welcoming some cooler weather here in Michigan and last night it appears to have rained just a little bit! We sure needed it, it’s been three weeks since we’ve had rain! Hopefully the grass, trees and plants got a little perk from last night’s rain!

Speaking of perks, the one perk I look forward to every morning is a nice hot cup of coffee. Every evening, before I flop my head down on my pillow, I double-check the coffee machine in the kitchen to make sure I’ve got my coffee ready for its scheduled 5:55 a.m. brew time. We can be pretty picky with coffee in our house, and we finally found one brand that we can all agree upon. That coffee brand would be Dallmayr. It is true, I pretty much cannot function with at least ONE cup of coffee in the morning, so if I haven’t had my coffee yet, you may want to wait until I’ve had some caffeinated coffee fill my veins!

The coffee machine is set to brew just before we wake up, so when that alarm clock does go off, it’s the Dallmayr coffee our senses smell and help open our eye lids. Dallmayr’s Prodomo coffee is what’s stashed in our cupboards. Each variety of Dallmayr coffee has a unique taste of its own, so if you see other varieties, do make sure to try them out!

Prodomo is the most often drank coffee in the house and it’s fl164320_loavor profile comes from the finest highland 100% Arabica beans from only the best coffee-growing areas in the world, originating in Ethiopia. Prodomo could be considered a medium roast, medium acidic and slightly intense flavor profile.  While it has full caffeine content, it is refined to be free of irritants and bitterness. Prodomo is a filter coffee and also comes in  whole beans. If you do have a coffee grinder on your machine or you have a separate coffee grinder, set the grinding level to fine. Can you believe that Dallmayr coffee goes back 300 years? Yes, that’s correct! With a history going back 300 years, you know they have they expertise and knowledge of fine coffee products! Based in Munich, Germany, Dallmayr has a long tradition of being the leader among luxury brand coffees.

So fill your coffee mug, sip and enjoy! It’s National Coffee Day and we want to know what you are drinking in that mug of yours! Gourmet International does carry many different varieties of Dallmayr coffee. We will further explore the brand and varieties as we travel down this gourmet adventure together. I’d normally like end with a nibble, nibble… but today: Sip, sip!
